MANIPOGO
One of several "manipogos", this creature was seen near the
shore of Lake Manitoba in the late 1950's by a young farm wife.
She counted about a dozen bumps on its back as it swam across
the bay.
Her daughter was skeptical until she spotted her own "manipogo"
while fishing along the cliffs at Steep Rock some forty years later.
This barrel-sized water creature rolled in the water before her eyes,
allowing her to capture the color and pattern seen here.
This third "manipogo", watched for about fifteen minutes from
less than fifty yards, was also seen in Lake Manitoba. Its head
was similar to, but larger than, a horse's, and almost twenty
feet of its massive yellowish-green body was visible.
